Hi! I decided that the first post on my blog would be about the instagram stories highlights! As you probably know, stories is a very important tool for advertising in Instagram (since the issue of the algorithm), especially for those with a business instagram account. Most people today publish Story and make sure to leave it at highlights (if it’s interesting enough for them). Do not forget, of course, that if you want the Story to stay at highlights, it must be published for 24 hours.

If you’ve looked at business instagram account, you’ve probably noticed that everyone has super cool highlights covers! Stunning icons and beautiful backgrounds that give the instagram account a professional look.

So I thought it would be a great idea to guide you here step-by-step how I created the instagram highlights covers in my instagram. pay attention, you can get the highlights covers Collection that I created for free! Just keep reading and you’ll find out how.

How To Create Instagram Highlights Covers

I use a free application called “CANVA” to create highlights covers and almost all my graphics on the site. If you want to create your own highlights covers, I recommend you to download this great application and easy of operation. Here’s how the app looks:

Step 1: Select Background

“After downloading the app, tap “See All Instagram Story

“Tap “Blank 

Tap the white screen

Tap “Color” and choose background color

Step 2: Choose Icons

You can choose icons, text, graphics, images… to be on your selected background. Canva has a huge selection of icons you can choose and design whatever you like

After selected the background color, tap the “+” button

Tap “Graphic” to select icon

In the search bar, enter the name of the icon you are looking for and a variety of free or paid icons will appear. I personally choose free icons because i think they are beautiful enough and the design possibilities are endless. tap the icon you want

Step 3: Design An Icon And Save At The Mobile Gallery

Once you have chosen icon and clicked on it, it will appear on the background you chose, and here the design begins. At the bottom of the page will appear the colors of all elements in the icon that can be replaced. Click each one and choose the color you want to change. At the end of the design, you must save the cover you created in your mobile gallery by tap the “↓” button

Once you have chosen a background and an icon and saved your cover, you can tap the Trash icon and the background will be clean again without an icon, so you can continue to choose another icon each time and save. This is important so that the background color will be the same in all covers in order to create a uniform appearance. Remember that when you upload the highlights covers, you can zoom in and out the cover and generally adjust it to the circle shape of the cover

Step 4: Upload To Instagram

Go to your profile Instagram account and tap on the highlight you want to put the cover you created

Tap “More” (button with three dots down on the right side of the screen) and then tap Edit Highlight

Tap Edit Cover

Tap the empty image button (at the bottom of the screen on the left) to enter the gallery

Choose at the gallery the cover  you designed and saved on canva and the InStagram will fit it to the circle shape (you can move the cover that the icon will be in the middle of the circle). When done, tap “Next” and then tap “Done“. We’re done! it’s so easy. That’s how you’ll create covers for all your highlights Instagram
